The purpose of meditation within GIAS is to experience calm and focus. Indeed, when one practices and one asks to relax... one must know what it is to be relaxed. It will be different for each of us. The fact that the body knows this state through the practice of meditation makes it easier and faster to find this state during the practice of Aikido. By developing techniques of meditation and concentration, and the targeted study of our movements, we develop another perception of Aikido.
